In the fifties conductor Otto Klemperer was invited to conduct a complete Beethoven-cycle with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. The performances became internationally famous, and there are still Klemperer-fanatics who think the recordings of some symphonies are unprecedented. Our contribution is not only focused on the conductor, but also on the soloists. Especially the co-operation of alto Nan Merriman will be a welcome supplement for their collection.
